Water is essential to human life. From drinking and cooking to bathing and sanitation, filtered water is a vital resource that we rely on every day.

However, not all water is created equal. In fact, much of the water that is available to us is contaminated with a variety of harmful substances that can have serious health consequences.

That’s where purified water comes in.

What is water purification?

Purification is the process of removing impurities from water to make it safe for consumption. There are several methods of water purification, including physical, biological, and chemical processes. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, but they all share the same goal of providing clean, potable aqua for human use.

Why is it so important?

Water purification is crucial for our health and wellbeing. Contaminated water can contain a variety of harmful substances, including suspended particles, parasites, bacteria, algae, viruses, and fungi.

These substances can cause a range of illnesses, from mild stomach upsets to life-threatening diseases.

Why is it Necessary?

Water is a vital resource that is necessary for human survival. However, many sources of water are contaminated with various pollutants, including suspended particles, parasites, bacteria, algae, viruses, and fungi.

Consuming contaminated water can lead to serious health problems such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid fever. Therefore, it is essential to purify water before consuming it to ensure that it is safe for consumption.

Methods of Water Purification

Filtration

Filtration is the process of passing water through a filter housing with a compatible filter cartridge to remove suspended particles and other impurities.

Distillation

Distillation is the process of boiling water and collecting the steam to remove impurities. This method is effective in removing minerals, heavy metals, and other contaminants from water.

Water Softening

Water softener is a water filter that provides soft water on it’s outlet. Hard water makes many problems in industrial or domestic usage.

This is why the importance of water softeners is so great.

Activated Carbon

Activated carbon water filtration is primarily used for chlorine removal from potable water. It is also used for odor, taste and color removal.

Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis is a water purification process of passing water through a semi-permeable membrane to remove impurities. This method is effective in removing dissolved salts, organic molecules, and other impurities from water.

Chlorination

Chlorination is the process of adding chlorine to water to kill bacteria and other microorganisms. This method is effective in preventing the spread of waterborne diseases.

Chlorine Dioxide

Chlorine Dioxide is an alternative to classic Chlorine, with many benefits and advantages.

Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection

UV disinfection is the process of using UV light to kill bacteria and other microorganisms in water. This method is effective in preventing the spread of waterborne diseases.

Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the method used will depend on the quality of the water source and the level of purification required.
